The Senior Security Tooling Engineer will join a team supporting one of UltraViolet's Federal Customers. The focus of the role will be to evaluate the effectiveness, configuration, and integration of enterprise and AWS-native security tools.ย 

What You'll Do:
  • Assess enterprise security tools such as:ย ย 

  • SIEM platformsย 

  • IDS/IPS solutionsย 

  • Vulnerability management systemsย 

  • Evaluate AWS-native security services including:ย ย 

  • AWS GuardDutyย 

  • AWS Macieย 

  • AWS Inspectorย 

  • Conduct configuration reviews against:ย ย 

  • CIS Benchmarksย 

  • AWS Well-Architected Frameworkย 

  • Review logging and monitoring configurations to ensure adequate coverage and visibilityย 

  • Support or perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to validate tool effectivenessย 

  • Analyze tool integration and data flow between systemsย 

  • Identify gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for optimizationย 

  • Provide recommendations to improve tooling effectiveness and coverageย 

What You've Done:
  • ย 7+ years hands-on experience with security tools and AWS security servicesย 
  • Experience with AWS security services and cloud security toolingย 

  • Experience performing tool assessments, audits, or implementationsย 

Core Certifications:ย 

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner

  • CompTIA Security+ (baseline, if needed)ย 

Tool/Platform & Cloud:ย 

  • AWS Certified Security โ€“ Specialtyย 

  • Splunk Certified Architect / Power Userย ย 

  • Microsoft SC-200 or equivalentย ย 

Pen Testing / Validation (Preferred):ย 

  • OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional)ย 

  • CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)ย 

Clearance Requirement:ย Active TS/SCIย withย SCI Polygraph (or eligible)ย
