Job description

A Brief Overview
 

This Medical Assistant will provide a unique clinical and administrative opportunity at a state of the art Advanced Primary Care and Wellness clinic located at the Sherwin Williams Corporate Headquarters in downtown Cleveland. This clinic will service Sherwin Williams employees working at the downtown location. The Medical Assistant will support the intentional integration of lifestyle medicine modalities to treat and prevent disease. 

What You Will Do
 

  • Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
  • Completely independent with all front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.
  • Assists manager with developing and facilitating process improvement initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities
 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Education
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program (Required) and
  • High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
Work Experience
  • 3 years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. (Required proficiency)
  • Able to organize changing work assignments. (Required proficiency)
  • Medical terminology. (Preferred proficiency)
  • Advanced patient care skills (Required proficiency)
  • Patient focused (Required proficiency)
  • Positive attitude and willing to learn (Required proficiency)
  • Orient other Clinical Support staff (Required proficiency)
  • Strong proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical record) and/or Scheduling systems (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (Required Upon Hire)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) (Preferred within 90 Days)
