Job description

Registered Nurse

Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2 for overall work performance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years inpatient RN experience with pediatric medical-surgical patients, specifically patients with acute and chronic respiratory, GI disorders, epilepsy, rehab, immunology, eating disorders. In addition, experience with pediatric patients with a medical diagnosis with underlying behavioral/psychiatric health conditions.
  • This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Charge Nurse experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Current healthcare provider CPR certification
  • PALS
