DESCRIPTION
Under close supervision, the Custodian performs cleaning duties in assigned areas of the facility in both patient and non-patient areas; is responsible for cleaning and safeguarding of assigned areas; is responsible for assigned equipment; is responsible for determining supplies needed; is responsible for efficient usage of supplies; delivers clean linen and picks up soiled linen.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Able to perform all cleaning/custodial functions including but not limited to mopping, pushing and pulling carts, wall washing, vent cleaning, vacuuming, etc.
  • Possess an understanding of procedures for the proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemotherapy and infectious/bio-hazardous waste.
  • Possess an understanding of basic safety regulations and issues.
  • Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior custodial experience in a healthcare setting or hospitality environment.
  • Customer service training/experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Ability to bend, squat, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $43,952 - $54,685 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $21.05 - $26.19
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
