What are Type 1 Diabetes specialists?

Type 1 Diabetes specialists are healthcare professionals, such as endocrinologists, diabetes educators, and dietitians, who are trained to diagnose, manage, and treat Type 1 Diabetes. They help patients monitor blood sugar levels, adjust insulin therapy, and develop personalized care plans. These specialists also educate patients and families about lifestyle adjustments, diet, and the latest advancements in diabetes care. Working closely with patients, they aim to optimize health outcomes and prevent long-term complications.

What are some common challenges faced by Certified Diabetes Educators (CDEs) when supporting patients with Type 1 Diabetes?

Certified Diabetes Educators working with Type 1 Diabetes patients often encounter challenges such as helping individuals manage fluctuating blood sugar levels, addressing concerns about insulin therapy, and supporting patients in building sustainable self-care habits. CDEs must also navigate emotional or psychological barriers, like diabetes burnout, while providing education tailored to each patient's lifestyle. Collaborative teamwork with endocrinologists, dietitians, and the patient's family is key to delivering comprehensive care and improving health outcomes.

  • Lead wholesale growth efforts, including outreach, account development, onboarding, and ongoing relationship management
  • Build and manage relationships with retailers, distributors, clinics, diabetes educators, camps, community organizations, and strategic partners
  • Oversee retail presence and wholesale operations, including relationship management, EDI coordination, supply chain communication, and ensuring the brand is represented well across accounts and channels
  • Support broader business development opportunities that expand GrifGrips beyond ecommerce
  • Help deepen GrifGrips’ authentic involvement in the Type 1 Diabetes community through partnerships, events, and aligned outreach opportunities
  • Serve as a strong cross-functional operator who can keep people aligned, organized, and moving forward

Requirements

  • Excellent communication, follow-through, and organizational skills
  • Experience in wholesale, retail account management, business development, or partnerships is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with EDI, supply chain coordination, and retail operations is a plus
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Personal connection to Type 1 Diabetes or familiarity with the T1D community is preferred
What Success Looks Like
  • Key initiatives move forward with greater speed, clarity, and accountability
  • Wholesale and retail relationships become a growing and well-managed part of the business
  • Leadership has better visibility into priorities, progress, and issues
  • The brand expands its reach through partnerships, community presence, and business development
  • GrifGrips becomes more organized, proactive, and scalable as it grows

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package based on experience
  • Performance-based incentives
  • A meaningful leadership role with real ownership and influence
  • The opportunity to help grow a purpose-driven brand making a real impact in the Type 1 Diabetes community
  • A fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment with room to grow
  • A collaborative team focused on innovation, execution, and community
  • Paid time off and additional benefits, discussed during the interview process
