Director, Landscape Architecture Studio


About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Landscape Architect to lead an established and growing Landscape Architecture Studio. This strategic leadership role offers the chance to shape the future direction of the practice while continuing to develop your own leadership capabilities and influence the growth of a high-performing team.

The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary landscape architecture team, oversee project delivery, drive business development, and build lasting client relationships. This role combines technical expertise, people leadership, and commercial responsibility to deliver exceptional project outcomes across a diverse portfolio of work.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Landscape Architecture Studio, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
  • Develop new business opportunities and establish strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Meet and exceed annual revenue and profitability targets.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop team members to support the continued growth of the studio.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and identify opportunities for account growth.
  • Provide leadership and support to Project Managers and technical staff.
  • Collaborate with internal multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions.
  • Source and manage external consultants and project partners where required.
  • Lead the preparation of proposals, bids, and presentations for new work.
  • Drive the studio's reputation as a preferred consultancy for both clients and prospective employees.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited programme.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture, including design and project management.
  • Professional landscape architecture registration/licensure.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and winning new work.
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing teams.
