Ag Center Mechanic

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Ag Center Mechanic.

What We're Looking For:

Twin City Foods Inc. Ag Center is looking for a qualified individual to join our team. TCFI Ag center specializes in Vegetable Harvesting equipment (Pea harvesters Sweet and corn harvesters). We are looking for an individual that can troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and recondition TCF harvest equipment at our Pasco Ag Center or in the field during harvest.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Cleans and apply lubricants to machinery components.
  • Replenishes fluid and components of engines and machinery.
  • Reads hydraulic and electrical schematics in the field.
  • Specifies and assembles hose and tube assemblies in the field.
  • Will use measuring devices, calculators and myriad hand tools, torque tools and various other tools to service and repair equipment.
  • Performs onsite maintenance on electrical and hydraulic equipment.
  • Provides technical support as necessary.
  • Works with Ag Center Manager and team members to support the efficient and accurate repair & service work.
  • Keeps chronological records of service activity to include each service step, evaluation of system or component, parts request and installation, repairs, completions, and tests/certifications.
  • Attend various safety certification classes and seminars as required.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required:
  • Strong process improvement skills with the ability to develop and implement processes.
  • Deep experience troubleshooting and fixing mechanical breakdowns.
  • Experience working with pneumatics. Needs to be able to work with solenoids, cylinders, or motor brakes.
  • Experience working with electrical wiring, fuse boxes, and solenoids.
  • Experience with performing preventative maintenance.
  • Must be able to work closely and cooperatively with management and other employees as directed.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Hydraulic and Electrical repair experience.
  • You must be able to follow written instructions and follow step-by-step instructions.
Required Education/Training/Certification Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Must have a valid Washington State Driver's License.

First Aid and CPR certified a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position must be able to assign tasks and manage field harvest procedures.

Attendance/Punctuality- Is consistent at work and on time. Extended hours and days are typical during processing season.

Essential Physical Abilities:

The employee must be able to walk farmland, sometimes in adverse weather and rough ground conditions. Able to work long hours for several days in a row, when needed, 7 days a week. Be able to work in hot and humid weather conditions. The employee must have the ability to lift heavy items up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close Vision, Distance Vision, Peripheral Vision, Depth Perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands/fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear.
