Job description

Location: Lubbock Country Club, Lubbock, TX

Position Overview: Lubbock Country Club is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Horticulturalist. This is an entry-level position that offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the beauty and sustainability of our club grounds while gaining valuable experience in horticulture and landscaping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance and care of all club landscapes, lawns, and ornamental plants.
  • Plant, water, fertilize, and prune vegetation according to seasonal needs and established horticultural practices.
  • Identify and address plant diseases, pests, and other issues promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Agronomy team to ensure the overall health and appearance of club grounds.
  • Participate in landscape design and implementation of projects as directed by the Director of Agronomy.
  • Operate and maintain equipment and tools safely and responsibly.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree or certification in Horticulture, Botany, or related field preferred. Will consider current students in related fields of study.
  • Knowledge of basic horticultural principles, plant care techniques, and landscape maintenance practices.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and kneeling.
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and procedures.
