Job description

Division/Department: Special Events 

Job Title: Catering Lead

Reports To: Special Events Coordinator 

Type of position: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Employee Classification: Full Time-Seasonal

Pay Range: $18-23

Location: Durango, CO

Position Summary

The Catering Lead is responsible for the creation and distribution of Hot Chocolate for the Polar Express Train Ride. Catering Lead manages the “Hot Chocolate Factory” making sure the staff are using proper food handling procedures. Must be able to work quality with percussion to produce a quality product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing, pouring, and maintaining temperature of hot chocolate
  • Restocking supplies from the warehouse and transporting to “Hot Chocolate Factory”
  • Maintain a clean workstation
  • Manage catering staff to ensure customer satisfaction as well as local and state health guidelines
  • Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended seasonal hours.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 40 pounds, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Assign daily duties, monitor staff performance, provide direction and coaching, and communicate staffing or operational concerns to the Special Events Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • Prior food service is preferred
  • Prior management experience is preferred
