Job Summary/Description:

The Promotions Coordinator is part of the Creative Services department and champions the KFYR-TV brand in the Bismarck/Mandan, Minot, Williston, and Dickinson markets by coordinating station marketing initiatives and executing community-facing projects. Reporting to the Director of Sales, this role works closely with internal departments, such as the News department, and external partners (including non-profits) to promote station priorities, strengthen community relationships, and deliver meaningful, well-run public service campaigns and events.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Champion station marketing and branding efforts across community initiatives and station campaigns.
• Coordinate and execute station community projects, including partnerships with non-profits and local organizations.
• Help plan, schedule, and support station appearances, community events, remote broadcasts, and promotional activations.
• Coordinate project timelines, checklists, and approvals; keep stakeholders informed of status and next steps.
• Support creation and distribution of promotional materials (print/digital/event collateral), ensuring brand consistency.
• Maintain relationships with community partners; identify opportunities for collaboration aligned to station goals.
• Assist with internal communications and cross-department coordination (News, Sales, Creative Services, Digital, Engineering, Operations).
• Track event details and outcomes (attendance, partner feedback, photos/video assets, recap notes) and maintain organized records.
• Coordinate logistics such as venues, vendor needs, station equipment requests, signage, staffing plans, and event-day run-of-show.
• Represent KFYR-TV professionally at community events and partner meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 1–3+ years of experience in marketing, promotions, communications, event coordination, community relations, or related field (broadcast/media a plus).
• Strong organization and project management skills; able to manage multiple projects with deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; professional presence with community partners.
• High attention to detail and ability to follow brand standards.
• Proficiency with common business tools (Microsoft 365/Google Workspace); willingness to learn station systems.
• Comfortable working evenings/weekends as needed for events.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally (some lifting/transport of event materials may be required).

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
• Experience working with non-profits, sponsorship activation, community outreach, or public service campaigns.
• Basic design/content skills (e.g., Canva/Adobe) and/or social media support experience.
• Video production skills: ability to write scripts, light and shoot video, and edit finished pieces (experience with tools like Adobe Premiere/Final Cut/DaVinci Resolve a plus).
• Comfortable using AI tools to support day-to-day work (brainstorming, outlining, rough drafts, workflow support), while bringing strong original creativity and judgment—human-led ideas are essential.
• Familiarity with event production elements (run-of-show, staffing plans, vendor coordination).
