Job description

This hands-on position requires the candidate to possess varied abilities in the building maintenance field. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintenance duties by using many skills including but not limited to: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, masonry, and general HVAC understanding to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel.
Responsibilities: Prepares general repair and maintenance duties including carpentry, painting, wallpapering, plumbing, and electrical systems. Assists hotel staff and guests with maintenance needs under the direction of the Assistant Director of Engineering.

Duties:
• Reports to work dressed in proper attire and on time following proper clock in/out procedures
• Repairs furniture & structures such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, window, counters, & others.
• Completes painting projects, wallpaper repair/hanging and finishing of furniture and structures.
• Checks electrical systems such as refrigeration controls, television sets, and lighting systems, and makes minor repairs.
• Checks and makes minor repairs to HVAC systems, & fixtures, such as pipe lines, toilets & sinks.
• Completes daily rounds and documents all areas reviewed as appropriate.
• Performs preventive maintenance in regard to plumbing and electrical systems such as checking outlets and pipe systems.
• Generally responsible for hotel safety, responds to all alarms and/or emergencies. Assists in maintaining a safe environment for hotel employees and guests. Responsible for safety alarm while on duty.
• Turns in a complete notification of all work performed daily.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Engineering, Manager on Duty or General Manager.
Qualifications - External
• A minimum of three years building maintenance experience is required, with hotel experience preferred.
• Experience in electrical, HVAC, plumbing and painting skills preferred.
• Able to Lift 50 pounds maximum with frequent bending, lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree
• Good customer skills are also required.
• Flexible schedule weekends and holidays
• Pay rate per hour: $18.00/hour
