Polymer Concepts Technologies PBY, Inc. is looking to hire multiple Weekend Turn Milling Machinist to set up and operate DMG Mori Turn Milling Machines at our Hanover, PA location. KRS is responsible for Aerospace and Industrial seal applications with a global responsibility for Sales, Manufacturing, Business development, Product and Process Development. KRS has a customer portfolio that includes all major players in the Aerospace industry. Our business is fully customer focused, with products specifically designed for a jet engine application, produced in small quantities and small lots on highly flexible equipment. Weekend Turn Milling Machinist will support operations by setting up and operating manual and automated machines.
Job Role and Responsibilities:
- Follows safety protocols, follows Company rules/policies and keeps work areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Operates multiple Mori machines during shift.
- Imputes tool lengths using Zoller.
- Responsible for calibration of probes.
- Makes decisions based on processes to adjust for 2nd operation.
- Performs tooling offsets that will affect more than one diameter.
- Builds and sets tools.
- Checks parts using probes and other measuring equipment to ensure part is within spec.
- Uses various machines and tools within the factory to role.
- Works from oral and written instructions, prints, sketches and process sheets. etc.
- Uses precision measuring instruments to assure conformance to known standards.
- Performs lubrication and service as needed.
- Transports items and products.
- Perform set-ups such as placing and blocking items and products on magnetic surfaces etc.
- Maintain records and paperwork.
- Notify supervision of problems or difficulties.
- Set-up and operate Lapping Room equipment as needed.
- Performs other duties as required.
Job Education, Experience and Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year experience working with 5-axis machinery and have HSD or GED.
- Ability to read and understand dimensional blueprints
- Knowledge of measurement equipment such as gauges and mics
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in manufacturing environment performing in production set up role
- Refers to supervisor for clarification of priorities, objectives, or policies
- Ability to train on any shift
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
- 4th shift hours, Fri 11P-7A and Sat-Sun 11P-11A (1 opening on 4th)
- 5th shift hours, Sat-Sun 11A-11P and M 3P-11P (1 opening on 5th)
- All hourly employees required to become a member of the United Steelworkers Union (USW) Local 7343-9
