Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
The Education Specialist/Project Mentor III-Texas School Ready (TSR) Coach will provide consultation, education and training for implementation of a project to support school readiness for prekindergarten children. TSR Coaches will implement a variety of strategies including side-by-side coaching, co-teaching, instructional planning, and reflective feedback. TSR Coaches will collaborate with the Children's Learning Center at University of Texas Health Science Center Houston (CLI) staff to ensure TSR fidelity. The TSR Coach travels as necessary to provide coaching, training, and to attend meetings.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Required Competencies/Skills:
Healthcare and Human Services Environments: Ability to explain issues and advancements in the healthcare and human services industries.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training/Experience:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field. Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field preferred.
  1. Three years’ experience training or coaching adults.
  1. Three years’ experience teaching preschool children.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
1. Certificate or license, as applicable, by the appropriate State agency as a qualified practitioner.
2. State of Texas vehicle operator’s license and proof of liability insurance.
