Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is immediately seeking an experienced CCNP Network Engineer in support of our enterprise compute customer based in Round Rock, TX.
Responsibilities:
CCNP Level:
* Design, configure, and maintain Wireless Access Points and Wireless Controllers
* Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, with a focus on Layer 2/Layer 3 switching technologies
* Develop and implement network automation solutions to streamline provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting
* Manage and optimize network performance, availability, and security across data center and campus environments
* Automate routine network operations using scripting and orchestration tools
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network integration and deployment efforts
* Troubleshoot complex network issues and perform root cause analysis
* Maintain up-to-date network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
* Participate in change management, incident response, and continuous improvement initiatives
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
* 5+ years of network engineering experience
* Strong expertise in: Layer 2/Layer 3 switching (VLANs, VRRP, MC-LAG, STP, VTP, PortChannel, and routing protocols such as OSPF/BGP); Network design and troubleshooting in enterprise environments
* Hands-on experience with network automation tools, such as: Demonstrated proficiency in Python, Ansible, or similar scripting/automation frameworks; REST APIs and network programmability concepts
* Deep experience with software architecture, API contract design, and data schema rules
* Experience breaking down complex applications into multi-agent systems (e.g., Coordinator, Implementor, and Verifier tasks)
* Familiarity with major networking platforms (e.g., Dell, Cisco, Arista, Juniper)
* Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security fundamentals
* Proficiency in automated verification criteria and mapping code back to core specs during pull requests
* Ability to write precise, unambiguous text instructions (PRDs) that Large Language Models (LLMs) can parse without "vibe coding"
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
