Who We're Looking For:

TSMC, the world's leading independent semiconductor foundry, is seeking highly motivated, results-oriented, and forward-thinking individuals to join our team as a Equipment Engineer. This pivotal role is located within our fast-paced semiconductor manufacturing environment at TSMC WA, offering a dynamic range of technical challenges and opportunities for significant impact.  

As a Equipment Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal uptime and performance of critical semiconductor manufacturing equipment, with a specific focus on KE Furnaces and Disco Back Grinders within the diffusion equipment section. This is an exempt position that requires a high degree of dedication, including flexibility for extended work hours and prompt responsiveness via a company-provided device. Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Proactively monitor and analyze equipment performance using advanced Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies and real-time data analytics to identify and address potential issues before they impact production.
  • Lead and strategically plan complex preventative and predictive maintenance activities in collaboration with technical teams, optimizing maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability.
  • Drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of equipment reliability and availability programs through innovative engineering solutions and process enhancements.
  • Champion initiatives for continuous yield and quality enhancement, alongside aggressive cost reduction and scrap minimization efforts.
  • Oversee and optimize critical spare parts inventory management, ensuring efficient procurement and availability to support operational continuity.
  • Demonstrate exceptional self-motivation and initiative in identifying and resolving potential equipment anomalies, implementing proactive measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Serve as a primary technical liaison with external vendors and internal facilities personnel for equipment upgrades, retrofits, and new technology integration.

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • 0-3 years of progressive experience with KE furnaces and/or DISCO 841 Grinders is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) principles, with practical application in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and advanced data analysis tools.
  • A strong foundation in electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical engineering principles.
  • In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with KE furnace pressure and temperature control systems.
  • Proven ability to rapidly assimilate complex technical information, coupled with strong leadership potential and a collaborative team-oriented approach.
  • Exceptional tenacity, adaptability, and resilience in a demanding, high-volume production setting.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to precision in all aspects of work.
  • Superior critical thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and execute complex action plans effectively.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information to diverse audiences.

Work Location & Schedule:

This position operates on-site at our Camas, Washington location during core business hours, Monday through Friday 8 am - 5 pm; however, there may be occasions when additional hours are necessary to meet project demands.

Pay Transparency & Other Compensation:

At TSMC, your base pay is just one component of your comprehensive compensation package. For new hires in this position, the starting salary typically ranges between $92,220 and $124,664 per year. The full salary range for this Job Grade extends from $92,220 - $135,480 depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, education, experience, tenure, and position level. TSMC's total compensation package also includes market-competitive pay, profit sharing and incentive bonuses, and tuition assistance.

* This position is also eligible for a Sign-On Bonus depending on various factors.

* This position is also eligible for a Relocation Bonus depending on various factors.

Employees and their families are offered access to comprehensive coverage, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, our wellbeing program, as well as basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.

Additionally, employees can enroll in our 401(k) plan with an employer match and participate in the employee stock purchase program. Employees receive 12 recognized holidays per year and accrue 120 hours of paid time off annually their first year.
