Job description

This position is a full-time temporary/contract position as a TSMC employee. Candidates will go through rigorous training anywhere from 2-4 months depending on training progress and business needs. The training schedule could vary from regular shift hours of M-F 9am-6pm and/or compressed schedule compressed work week assignment (3/4 - 4/3 rotating shift schedule, 12 hour shifts (which can include night shifts)), based on trainer availability. Selected candidates will be provided the opportunity to extend their training contracts or accept an offer to convert to a non-temporary, direct TSMC employee, depending on performance, compliance with company policies, training progress, and business needs.
We are looking for AMHS Handling System Technicians to join our upcoming 4-nanometer fab in Phoenix, Arizona. You will demonstrate a strong sense of reliability, enthusiasm, and will possess an attitude that embodies TSMC's core values - Integrity, Commitment, Innovation and Customer Trust.
Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Learn and become familiar with manufacturing/engineering process and stay informed of any changes in procedures.
  • Recover tool condition from regular maintain or trouble shooting to provide high quality production line.
  • Oversee AMHS device installation and qualification testing.
  • Sustain and improve the performance of AMHS devices in cleanroom environment.
  • Conduct hand-carry of wafers when necessary.
  • Work in a startup business culture

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • HIgh School graduation or GED
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation.
  • Ability to work under a compressed work-week schedule, days, or nights.
  • Committed, attentive, positive, multi-tasking attitude, and ability to work under high pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment in PPE coveralls, hoods, boots, safety glass and gloves.
  • Able to wear clean room suit while standing and/or walking for a 12-hour shift in the FAB as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous or current AMHS experience.
  • Semiconductor manufacturing experience.
  • Associate of Science degree (AAS)
  • 3+ years of experience in a mechanical, maintenance or manufacturing setting, working with electrical machinery, preventative maintenance, installation, and collaborative teams.

Minimum Physical Demands:
  • Carrying ladders from on duty area to area that needs work.
  • Ability to reach above shoulder level and move a FOUP from a storage location to a cart, up to 40 lbs. in weight.
  • Extend arms above shoulder level for extended periods of time to install/move barcodes, E84 heads, and other AMHS material.
  • Work in a confined space (less than 4 feet) to recover vehicles at the AMHS highway level.
  • Work requires movement on hands and knees, to include bending, stooping, walking over periods of time.
