Job description

General Overview:
To provide technical support required to install, repair, overhaul, replace, remodel and perform preventative maintenance for production machinery and equipment, and to acquire and develop additional skills and knowledge.
Duties
  • Install, repair, overhaul and maintain electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and/or electro-mechanical machinery and equipment.
  • Observe and test operation of electronic, electrical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or mechanical devices in order to evaluate and identify operating problems.
  • Delegate or fabricate replacement components with direction from Maintenance Team Leader in order to affect in-house repairs and/or modify machinery and equipment to improve efficiency.
  • Dismantle equipment and machinery in order to identify, remove, repair and/or replace damaged or deteriorated components, and reassemble equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance for facilities, fixtures, equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and other required documents.
  • Develop additional technical skills and knowledge of electronic, electro-mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical principles and maintenance and repair practices.
  • Develop familiarity with ergonomics and assembly processes in order to evaluate process efficiency and develop modifications to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain work areas in a neat, clean, and orderly condition.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in automation preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, trouble shooting, PLC programming, and machine breakdown repair.
  • Working knowledge of electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic concepts and operating safety.
  • Knowledge of relay and programmable logic controllers for mechanical equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, diagrams, engineering specifications and operating instructions.
  • Working knowledge of electronic circuitry and demonstrated ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools commonly used in the electrical, electronic, metal working and mechanical trades.
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and machine troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Windows based computer software applications.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of maintenance experience preferred
