Senior Technical Accountant
About the Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to lead the interpretation and execution of complex accounting across a high-growth, global environment. This role is positioned as the technical backbone of the organization, owning accounting conclusions tied to transactions, global expansion, and evolving regulatory guidance.
This is an opportunity to move beyond execution into real ownership of accounting outcomes, with direct exposure to executives and deal activity.
What You’ll Own
Your day-to-day will extend well beyond traditional reporting. You’ll operate as the point of view on technical accounting matters across the business.
- Lead the research, position development, and formal documentation of complex technical accounting issues (revenue recognition, equity, consolidations, etc.), with audit-ready precision
- Drive the evaluation and implementation of new accounting standards, ensuring the company stays ahead of regulatory change, not reacting to it
- Partner directly with leadership on complex transactions, due diligence, and private equity initiatives, influencing how deals are structured and accounted for
- Anchor the integrity of financial reporting by staying close to the close process and ensuring technical accuracy flows through to the numbers
- Identify breakdowns in existing processes and elevate the control environment to support a scaling, multi-entity business
- Act as a key bridge between finance and operations to improve visibility and consistency in financial data across the organization
What We’d Like
We’re targeting top-tier accounting talent ready to transition into a role with more ownership, complexity, and visibility.
- Active CPA required
- Background in Big 4 or nationally recognized public accounting firm
- Strong exposure to complex accounting areas and technical research
- Experience with transactions or sophisticated entity structures is highly valued
- Comfortable making decisions in ambiguous scenarios, not just documenting them
- Ability to communicate and defend technical positions with credibility across stakeholders
Why This Role
- This role sits where technical positions are decided, not reviewed.
- You will work directly with leadership on complex accounting and transaction-related matters, with visibility into how decisions are made and carried through.
- As the business scales, so does your scope, giving you increasing ownership rather than a fixed lane.
