Accounting Advisory Manager (Full-Time Role)

Studio City, CA | Hybrid Remote Flexibility (i.e. 3-4 days on-site, 1-2 remote)


We're a Los Angeles based specialized Accounting & Finance Advisory firm seeking an Accounting Advisory Manager to support an urgent financial leadership engagement with a massively successful real estate investment and property management organization. This role will operate as a hands-on accounting leader, helping stabilize accounting operations, improve financial reporting, and provide structure within a growing organization with a large portfolio of assets. This is just one of many engagements you will partake in, where you will get to solve a diverse range of problems across Small-to-Mid Sized businesses in a range of industries, including but not limited to: Real Estate, Investment, Entertainment, Technology, and Manufacturing.


Our role is perfect for: those coming from a client facing business setting, i.e. an Accounting Advisory Firm or Financial Consulting business who love executing on Accounting & Audit Services engagements from an operational standpoint, but aren't as interested in business development, negotiating contracts, or being the point-person in managing each account. The managing partner handles the relationship management and business development, and needs that right-hand-person who excels in execution, partnering with him as a unified front.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting operations including general ledger, financial reporting, and month end close.
  • Lead and support accounting staff as an external consultant, while strengthening processes and internal controls.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and portfolio level reporting.
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting workflows and reporting infrastructure.
  • Partner with leadership on financial visibility, operational improvements, and reporting accuracy.
  • Strong in change management, documentation, managing client feedback, and creatively adding value.


Qualifications

  • 5-10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience with a client facing Accounting or Financial Services Advisory firm.
  • Experience as an Accounting Manager, Advisory Manager, Fractional Controller, or Director of Accounting.
  • Strong financial reporting and accounting operations background.
  • Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff, providing accountability, and establishing a culture of efficiency & excellence.
  • Real estate, property management, or investment accounting experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with budgeting, financial modeling, accruals, tightening month-end closing processes, GAAP, and variance analyses.
