Trident Hospital is located in Charleston SC.

The Transport department is open Monday through Friday 5am to 11pm and Saturday/Sunday 7am to 9pm. You will be working rotating weekends. We are looking for someone to cover and oversee the evening shifts. You will mostly be working 2pm to 10pm Monday through Friday. Your weekend hours may differ.

Job Summary and Qualifications The Patient Transport Coordinator is responsible for coordination of daily workflow and for overseeing that transport jobs are completed timely. Communication between departments as well as nurses is key for a well-run department.

What you will do:

  • Coordinate and oversee how the shift operations run including, but not limited to, re-prioritizing jobs in PATRA as well as trouble-shooting system issues.
  • Ensure all stretchers and wheelchairs are returned to correct location, O2 tanks are full and maintained appropriately.
  • Transport patients from one area to another via wheelchair, stretcher, or ambulating. This includes transporting items with patient or separately such as oxygen or IV stands.
  • Perform other duties including, but are not limited to, clerical, scheduling, ordering supplies, inventory, cleaning, and all other duties deemed necessary by the Management Team.
  • Supervise students or training new Transporters in their responsibilities. 

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • High School Graduate / GED
  • Some experience in leading and motivating a team
