Job description

Position Name: Clinical Pharmacist
Available Shifts :
Mixed Shift: 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM & 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM.
Nightshift: 7 on 7 off - Wednesday through Tuesday 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM
Facility is a 238-bed acute care hospital. For 40 years, we have served Bay County and the surrounding communities. We are an accredited facility offering comprehensive care. This includes advanced cardiac assessment and treatment. We offer certified women's services. Our hospital has dedicated spaces for adult and pediatric emergency services. We are certified in Advanced Primary Stroke Care. Our hospital is accredited as a Comprehensive Breast Care Center. We are the area's only Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PC Iand Resuscitation. Other services that we offer include orthopedic care and joint replacement, robotic surgery, cardiac, vascular, and interventional services. We are home to the only Pediatric ER in the community. We have the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in the region. Together, we continue to raise the bar in healthcare.
Job Summary and Qualifications
We are seeking aPharmacist to join our healthcare team. Your primary function is providinggeneral clinical and pharmacy services, including supervision of technicalstaff. You will work with a phenomenal team that cares like family and workstogether in a collaborative manner.
In this role you will:
  • Interpret orders and transcribe or verify them accurately and efficiently into the pharmacy computer system.
  • Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals.
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies and appropriateness of drug and dose.
  • Sustain the hospital formulary, minimizing nonformulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic interchanges and promotes rational drug therapy selection.
  • Provide accurate and timely medication information to healthcare staff and patients.
  • Assist with clinical services such as drug consults, nutrition support, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulant monitoring, pain management, IV to PO, renal dosing and other programs as defined by Pharmacy Leadership.
  • Document all clinical activities and interventions accurately and completely.
  • Complete notification reports regarding medication errors and adverse drug reactions.
  • Effectively supervise pharmacy operation activities and provide support to the whole pharmacy team.
Whatqualifications you will need:
  • Open to New Grad Pharmacists that completed an internship in a hospital setting. Looking for a candidate with at least 1 year of recent hospital experience or the completion of a PGY-1 in a hospital setting. *MUST HAVE ACUTE HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE WITHIN THE LAST YEAR
  • B.S. or PharmD from and ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy required
  • Minimum of one year of hospital experience is preferred
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate Florida State Board of Pharmacy

We have a transfer from Trident who is already working somewhat independently. If they have experience from the past, that is a major plus. Someone who can demonstrate that they know what theyre talking about. They have disliked candidates who lack hospital experience. Its such a fast-paced environment with high acuity patients that hospital experience is extremely valuable.
