Who You Are:
The Auto Collision Repair program emphasizes vehicle cosmetics while also exposing students to broader refinishing and coating applications used across the transportation and industrial sectors. Students learn professional techniques in automotive painting, refinishing, surface preparation, and non-structural body repair while gaining hands-on experience through live-work projects and the use of industry-specific tools and equipment.


The Instructional Assistant plays a key supportive role in both the classroom and shop environment. Responsibilities include assisting the instructor with daily classroom management, providing hands-on support during shop projects and refinishing activities, and performing administrative duties as assigned by the instructor or school administration. This role requires a strong understanding of collision repair, refinishing processes, and/or industrial coating applications, along with a commitment to student learning in a technical, hands-on environment.


What You'll Possess
Qualified Candidates Will:

  • Possess a high school diploma. A Technology Center diploma or Associates degree is preferred.
  • Possess a minimum of two years of relevant experience in auto collision repair, automotive refinishing, industrial painting, industrial coatings, or related surface preparation and finishing industries.
    Possess or be willing to obtain a minimum of one ASE certification.
  • Be detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and follow-up skills while exceeding expectations.
  • Take initiative, seek out projects proactively, and openly accept additional duties as assigned.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Thrive in a collaborative team environment where innovation and hands-on learning are valued.
  • Continually seek opportunities for professional growth and remain open to feedback and continuous improvement.


What Youll Do
Essential Functions:
Instructional Assistants provide administrative support to a workgroup or function in a task-oriented environment. They possess a present focus and will handle multiple tasks with provided direction in the scope of their workgroup. Customer service skills are a top priority as they often serve as the front-line representative of the workgroup.


  1. Support Instruction in Auto Collision Shop.
    • Provide hands-on support to student learning experiences in the classroom and lab.
    • Create an effective environment for learning, ensuring classroom cleanliness and organization, and effective supervision of student activities.
    • Coordinate with the instructor to establish student behavior expectations needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
    • Support the instructor by assisting appropriate records and preparing reports relating to student progress, including grades and attendance as requested.
    • Participate in faculty meetings and sponsorship of student activities.
    • Provide administrative support to instructors such as filing, inventory management, delivering mail, classroom organization, etc.
  2. Other Job Related Duties as Assigned by Supervisor
