Climber Summary
The Climber is responsible for safely performing tree trimming, pruning, and removal by climbing and working at height using ropes, harnesses, and other specialized gear. This role requires precision, attention to safety, and environmental care to ensure high-quality results.
Duties/ Responsibilities
  • Safely climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and other climbing equipment to perform pruning, trimming, and removal of limbs.
  • Cut, prune, or remove tree branches and limbs according to client specifications and safety standards.
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of climbing equipment, including ropes, harnesses, and rigging gear.
  • Coordinate with the ground crew and Bucket Operator to ensure smooth operations during tree removal and maintenance.
  • Use chainsaws, handsaws, and other tree service tools to perform tasks while working at heights.
  • Lower tree limbs, branches, and other materials safely to the ground using ropes or other rigging techniques.
  • Follow safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to company safety standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, ensuring clear coordination and safe execution of tasks.

Qualifications
  • Ability to work long hours in high-stress environments, including outside normal business hours for extended periods
  • Previous experience as a tree climber or arborist is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of tree care practices, climbing techniques, and safety procedures.
  • Experience with rigging, ropes, and climbing gear.
  • Physical stamina and strength to handle the demands of the job.
  • Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus).
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
