Description

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Treasury Management Sales Associate to join our team! This position is responsible for driving the growth of treasury management services by engaging with clients to understand their financial needs and providing tailored solutions. This role involves building and maintaining strong client relationships, conducting needs assessments, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver exceptional service. The associate will stay informed about treasury products and market trends, develop sales strategies to meet targets, and provide training and support to clients on treasury management tools. This position is key to enhancing client satisfaction and contributing to the overall success of the organization.

  • Client Retention: Proactively engage with clients to ensure satisfaction with treasury management solutions, address concerns, and identify opportunities to strengthen relationships, reducing attrition. Collaborate with TMO to implement retention strategies.
  • Cross-selling / Upselling: Proactively identify client needs by leveraging client interactions and data to uncover additional treasury management needs, proactively recommending solutions to clients that optimize cash flow, streamline operations, and mitigate risk.
  • Joint Calls with Treasury Management Officer (TMO): Collaborate with TMO on joint calls to deliver an exceptional onboarding experience for clients, identifying sales opportunities during interactions.
  • Client Education: Ensure clients fully understand the onboarding process for new relationships and services, effectively communicating the value of TM and identifying additional solutions that may benefit them.
  • Client Retention: Regularly review client activities and accounts. Identify opportunities to cross-sell / up-sell TM services
  • Information Gathering: Collect and verify all necessary documentation and information from clients prior to submitting new Treasury onboarding requests, ensuring a smooth and efficient setup process.
  • Service Level Agreement Compliance: Guarantee that requests are entered within the required Service Level Agreement (SLA) once complete documentation has been received, maintaining a focus on timeliness to enhance client satisfaction.
  • Client Follow-Through: Maintain proactive follow-through with clients throughout the onboarding process, ensuring they are informed about the status of their services and identifying any additional needs that may arise.
  • Post-Training Follow-Up: Conduct follow-up conversations with clients post-training to assess satisfaction, gather feedback, and promote any additional services or upgrades that could enhance their experience.
  • Collaboration with TMO: Address any issues or concerns related to requests and onboarding with TMO, maintaining open lines of communication to foster a team-oriented approach to client service.
  • Special Pricing Requests: Accurately complete any special pricing requests, working closely with clients to understand their needs and maximizing opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
  • Complex Issue Resolution: Partner with Treasury Solutions on complex issues, leveraging expertise to provide clients with tailored solutions and promoting additional services where appropriate.
  • Exceptional Customer Service: Deliver outstanding customer service to Treasury Management clients, actively listening to their needs and providing solutions that align with their financial goals.
  • Feedback Loop with TMO: Maintain an open feedback loop with the TMO regarding client interactions and sales opportunities, fostering a collaborative approach to sales and service delivery.
  • CRM Tracking & Maintaining and Updating โ€“ TM Tracker

To be successful in this position, we require the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • A minimum of one (1) year of financial services or related experience.

  • Problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to work in face paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiencies in Microsoft Office Suite โ€“ particularly excel, word and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Treasury Management services is a plus
  • Ability to work independently
