Job description

Treasury Management Sales Consultant

Commercial & Corporate Banking | San Diego

This is a client-facing Treasury Management sales role supporting commercial and corporate banking teams in Southern California. You will act as a trusted advisor to sophisticated clients.

You'll partner closely with Relationship Managers to win new business, deepen existing relationships, and deliver complex treasury solutions for middle-market, corporate, and specialized industry clients, including technology and embedded payments environments.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Revenue Growth

  • Serve as the Treasury Management subject-matter expert for commercial and corporate banking clients and prospects.

  • Lead discovery conversations to understand client cash flow, payment, and operational needs.

  • Design and deliver tailored treasury solutions across payables, receivables, liquidity, fraud, commercial cards, and digital platforms.

  • Own the full sales lifecycle—from discovery through implementation—ensuring execution matches what was sold.

New Business & Portfolio Expansion

  • Proactively source new treasury opportunities through joint calls with RMs, referrals, and direct prospecting.

  • Support new client acquisition efforts, particularly for corporate banking and specialized industry teams with limited existing portfolios.

  • Drive wallet-share expansion within assigned markets and client segments.

Internal Partnership

  • Work in lockstep with Commercial and Corporate RMs (including Business Banking, Commercial, and Corporate segments).

  • Partner with product, implementation, merchant services, and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery.

  • Influence outcomes without authority—this is a relationship-driven organization.

Performance & Accountability

  • Deliver against defined revenue goals tied to:

    • Account Analysis

    • Merchant Services

    • Commercial Card

  • Contribute to portfolio growth and discretionary performance metrics.

  • Operate with urgency, follow-through, and professionalism—no radio silence, no overpromising.

What Success Looks Like

  • You speak the language of sophisticated commercial clients and can “talk the talk and walk the walk.”

  • Bankers trust you and actively pull you into deals.

  • Clients view you as a long-term strategic partner, not a vendor.

  • You manage your book independently and don't require micromanagement.

  • You consistently execute—ideas turn into revenue.

Required Experience & Profile

Must-Haves (Non-Negotiable)

  • 5+ years of Treasury Management experience within commercial or corporate banking
(Business Banking-only backgrounds will not be a fit)

  • Proven success selling complex treasury solutions to middle-market or larger clients

  • Deep working knowledge of:

    • Payables & Receivables

    • Liquidity Management

    • Fraud Prevention

    • Commercial Cards

    • Digital & ERP-integrated banking solutions

  • Experience partnering with Relationship Managers in a consultative sales model

  • Strong executive presence, communication skills, and client credibility

Preferred Background

  • Experience at institutions with strong TM training cultures.

  • Exposure to:

    • ERP integrations (Sage, NetSuite, QuickBooks)

    • RTP / API-enabled payments

    • Embedded or technology-driven client environments

  • Comfort operating in growth-mode teams with evolving structure
