Job description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The primary responsibility of Treasury Management Officer is to lead new business development efforts with prospective new treasury management customers and expanding existing commercial depository relationships. The TMO is also responsible for performing the consultative sales process by leveraging their expertise around customer working capital management practices, payment systems, and associated Treasury Management products and services to meet the customers and prospects payment needs. The TMO incorporates a keen awareness of risk and a customer focused perspective. In addition. The TMO assists commercial relationship managers, with their TM business development efforts in order to increase the growth of commercial deposit relationships and increase fee income. The TMO is also responsible for providing Bank Management with product support in the evaluation of product constructs and strategies.

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

  • Lead new business efforts with prospective and existing customers both independently as well as in partnership with Relationship Manager and Backing Center Managers in the development and direct sale of depository and treasury management products and services to drive fee income and deposits by reviewing
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to identify growth opportunities and assess market trends.
  • Identify emerging market trends and position the bank for long-term growth and innovation.

Operational Oversight:

  • Provide executive oversight of, commercial, small business, and specialty banking functions
  • Ensure operational excellence and consistency across all banking channels.

Customer Experience & Growth:

  • Champion a customer-first culture that enhances satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.
  • Drive product innovation and service enhancements to meet evolving client needs.
  • Drive business development strategies to expand market share and deepen customer relationships.

Risk & Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to all banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Partner with the Chief Risk Officer and compliance teams to proactively manage operational, credit, and reputational risks.
  • Establish strong governance practices that safeguard the organizationโ€™s integrity and reputation.

Team Development:

  • Build and mentor high-performing teams across banking divisions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Financial Performance:

  • Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for banking operations.
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.


WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business, Finance, or related field (masterโ€™s preferred).
  • 7+ years of treasury management sales experience with commensurate knowledge of commercial depository products and services
  • 10 + years of sales or customer service experience in the banking or financial services industry
  • Proven track record in managing multi-functional banking operations.
  • Strong understanding of banking regulations, compliance, and risk management.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Cash Management (CCM)/ Certified Treasury Professional (CTP)
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of treasury management product delivery systems, electronic banking products and operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills: ability to prospect, and network at various levels within a company for complex deals and relationships.
  • Knowledge of cash-flow and working capital solutions
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills including effective questioning strategies, negotiation skills, presentation techniques and training delivery skills.
  • Technologically savvy โ€“ ability to understand, operate/install and explain Bankโ€™s products, operating systems and support programs (need to be the technical expert).
  • Good time management skills.

  • Ability to effectively assess customer needs and requirements and translate into sales deliverables utilizing treasury management products and technologies.
  • Ability to relate to all levels of employees.
