These include hotels, office buildings, retail spaces, residences, and trade marts - projects that set the standard for marquee real estate developments.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Manager, this position supports the accounting department with administrative tasks related to entity set-up and maintenance, business license and registrations, and bank account set-up and maintenance. Specific to this role, the Treasury Associate responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Process documentation needed to establish new bank accounts and changes to existing accounts over disparate banking platforms
  • Compilation of Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation Tracking cash disbursements and cash receipts for Portman Holdings, tier entities, and subsidiaries
  • Business license applications and renewals
  • Compilation of information packages needed for trade credit applications and Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) renewals
  • Work with Treasury management to maintain the company’s choice of key financial institutions including the analysis of bank fee structures, services, relationships, credit level and counterparty credit quality/exposure
  • Maintain relationships with banking client service specialists at multiple banks
  • Document maintenance of vendor wire/ACH payment instructions and payment instructions change requests
  • Maintain Positive Pay records and decision positive pay exceptions on a daily basis
  • Monitor and track the company’s debt payments, and update debt management software on a monthly basis
  • Update wire summary reports weekly
  • Prepare daily cash reports for management
  • Provide information in connection with external audits and monitor cash management activities to ensure compliance
  • Support treasury and accounting initiatives as needed
  • Assist in depositing of incoming checks.
  • Annual entity registration and business license renewal processing
  • Maintain client confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
    • Other duties as assigned
    • Remaining current on job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

THE PERSON

The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player with the ability to foster good working relationships, possess an excellent work ethic with the capacity to meet deadlines, and maintain excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task. Specific requirements for this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Three-five years of prior Treasury experience, preferably at a bank or other financial institution
  • At least one year of accounting/bookkeeping experience; banking experience a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and a strong understanding of Adobe Acrobat
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to foster good working relationships at every level within the company
  • Possesses excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills and pays close attention to details
  • Excellent planning, presentation and organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
  • Sound problem-solving skills with solid decision-making capability and emotional maturity
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demand, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response
  • Demonstrated self-starter (proactive, taking initiative) and has the ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Meticulous ability to follow company guidelines and processes
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule outside of the core business hours
