Job description

Provide electrical support and service for mining and civil construction projects including project set up, installing conduit and pull wire to connect project facilities, connecting and start-up electrical construction equipment, troubleshooting electrical controls and equipment. Based out of the Evansville office with possibility of some travel.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install and start-up electrical equipment and controls including planning and organizing work activities; keeping all associated records.
  • Assemble and wire control panels.
  • Rebuild and recondition electrical equipment and controls (switchgear, power centers, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems on mining and construction equipment.
  • Efficiently and accurately complete work assigned by management.
  • Must comply with all company policies and be able to work in way that does not pose a threat to themselves and others.
  • Perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to work underground, at heights, and on construction projects throughout U.S.
  • Be a team player and work well with project management, clients, employees, and regulatory agencies.
  • Participate with all departments of FKCI to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND GIVEN:

Electrician report directly to the Electrical Superintendent.

DECISION MAKING:

Responsible for decisions as they relate to completing assigned work in a safe and effective manner.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Apprenticeship, Technical electrical degree or advanced manufacturers training in PLC's plus.
  • Must have electrical certifications or willing to obtain.

Tools

  • Must supply own basic hand tools.

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years industry or construction electrical experience.
  • Experience in AC/DC power systems (single and 3 phase).
  • Working knowledge of PLCs and AC/DC drives is a plus.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code and/or mining and electrical regulations (CFR title 30).
  • Ability to read and understand electrical prints and drawings including schematics, single line distribution, connection, and filed wiring diagrams.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be skilled in using standard electrical testing equipment.
  • Must be skilled in using small hand tools and power tools.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with multiple team members in different departments.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills

Due to the contractual nature of our work, time is of the essence. The scheduling, completion, and delivery of the work make regular attendance an essential requirement of the job.
