What is a traveling analyst?

A Traveling Analyst is a professional who conducts research, analysis, and data collection while frequently traveling to various locations. Their work often involves visiting client sites, industry events, or field locations to gather firsthand information, conduct interviews, and assess operational practices. Traveling Analysts can work in various industries such as finance, consulting, market research, or logistics. Their insights help organizations make informed decisions, improve processes, or identify new opportunities. The role requires adaptability, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate findings effectively.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a traveling analyst?

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel or other security information and event management platforms required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and analyze complex security incidents, identify root causes, and recommend remediation actions.
  • Ability to communicate technical details concisely for the appropriate audience.
  • Approximately 5% travel may be required to support the position's responsibilities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
