Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric/Neonatal Transport position requiring extensive PICU, NICU, and transport experience along with PALS and NRP certifications.

Details
  • Work within the Pediatric Transport unit at a 152-bed Level 2 trauma and Level 4 NICU facility serving the Puget Sound region and surrounding communities as far as eastern Washington
  • Facility provides CRRT and ECMO services
  • Care for pediatric and neonatal patients with diagnoses including HIE, ppHN, asthma, respiratory illness, sepsis, DKA, metabolic disorders, trauma, ingestions, congenital heart defects, cancer, and NEC
  • Support interhospital transport via ground or air in partnership with NW Ambulance and Airlift Northwest (fixed and rotor wing)
  • Transport team consists of 1 RN, 1 RT, and an EMT who drives the ambulance
  • Utilize Phillips monitors, Hamilton ventilators, Braun and Baxter IV pumps, Tecotherm, Zoll defibrillators, Stryker gurney, transport isolette, and ambulance/aircraft equipment
  • EMR systems used include EPIC and Zoll emsCHARTS
  • 12-hour day shifts scheduled 7a-7p or 7p-7a
  • 36 hours per week
  • Weekend rotation required every other weekend
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floats to other units or works as helping hands when not on transport assignments
Requirements
  • Active WA state RN license or compact license required
  • Current BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
  • TNCC and STABLE certifications preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in PEDS ED/PICU and Level IV NICU, with at least 1 year in each
  • Minimum 3 years of neonatal/pediatric transport experience within the last 5 years
  • Skilled in airway management, vasoactive drips/infusions, non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/HFNC), respiratory inhaled medication administration, and IV/IO access
Additional Information
  • Provide direct patient care during interhospital pediatric and neonatal transport via ground or air
  • Participate in safety day training as part of orientation to become familiar with ambulance and aircraft equipment
  • Black scrub color required
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
