Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring NC or Compact license and PALS certification.

Details
  • Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) at a teaching hospital
  • Care for pediatric patients with congenital heart disease, post cardiac surgery, and other cardiovascular conditions
  • 1:2 patient ratio
  • Day shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Epic charting system preferred
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required
  • Bi-weekly orientation schedule
Requirements
  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) in hand
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
  • Pediatric ICU or CVICU experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skills in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and cardiovascular dysrhythmia management preferred
  • 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
  • Flu vaccine required with no exemptions during flu season (October 31 - March 31)
Additional Information
  • Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients with complex cardiovascular conditions in a CVPICU setting
  • Care may include ventilator management, ECMO, VAD support, CRRT, and hemodynamic monitoring
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • RTO must be limited to a maximum of 5-7 days
  • Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate within a 75-mile radius
  • Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must not have been employed there within the past 6 months
  • Up to three absences permitted per 13-week contract, with attendance closely monitored
