If you’re ready to lead complex, fast-paced projects across the country and accelerate your career in construction leadership, this role puts you in the driver’s seat.

At Powerhouse, our Traveling Superintendents don’t just manage job sites, they own project execution from start to finish while building the experience that shapes future leaders.

What You’ll Experience

  • Travel nationwide, spending extended time (10–14 weeks) leading projects in different markets
  • Take ownership of high-visibility retail and commercial renovations
  • Gain hands-on leadership experience early in your career
  • Be supported by a team that understands the demands of the field
What You’ll Do

You will lead the full lifecycle of construction projects, ensuring execution, safety, and quality standards are met at every phase.

  • Manage day-to-day job site operations from mobilization through completion
  • Interpret project manuals, drawings, and specifications to drive execution
  • Coordinate subcontractors, schedules, and site logistics to meet deadlines
  • Identify risks, adjust plans, and implement solutions to maintain progress
  • Ensure all work aligns with design intent while adapting to field conditions
  • Lead RFIs, inspections, and permitting processes through project closeout
  • Maintain accurate daily reporting, including progress updates and photos
  • Oversee final project completion and client handoff

This role includes approximately 20% hands-on work to support project execution as needed.

Leadership Responsibilities
  • Direct field staff and subcontractors to ensure productivity and accountability
  • Maintain project schedules and proactively address delays
  • Enforce safety standards and lead weekly toolbox talks
  • Inspect work to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance
What You Bring
  • 3+ years in a supervisory role within construction
  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant trade or field environment
  • Strong understanding of commercial or retail construction processes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications
  • Experience with project management tools (Procore, PlanGrid, Autodesk Build preferred)
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work nights/weekends as required
  • Ability to pass MVR, background check, and drug screening
Travel & Work Expectations
  • Travel assignments typically range from 10–14 weeks at a time
  • Air travel is required

Compensation

Salary up to $104,000, based on experience and overall fit, plus per diem and travel-related benefits.

The Opportunity

This is a role for individuals who want more than incremental growth. You will gain the experience, exposure, and responsibility that prepares you for long-term leadership in construction.
