  • Guaranteed Hours: 37.5 hours/week

Required Qualifications — Cytotechnologist (White Plains, NY)
  • Active New York State (NYS) Cytotechnologist license (required)
  • Bachelor of Science in Cytotechnology or related discipline; ASCP Registry required
  • Minimum 3 years' experience screening GYN, non-GYN specimens and performing fine needle aspiration (FNA) adequacy assessments
  • ThinPrep certification
  • Working knowledge of the Bethesda System for cytology reporting
  • ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) certification (required)
  • BLS (AHA) certification (required)
  • Experience with EPIC electronic charting preferred
Key Responsibilities — Cytology Technologist / Cytotechnologist
  • Screen GYN and non-GYN cytology specimens accurately and efficiently, supporting hospital cytology services
  • Process and perform immediate adequacy assessment for FNA samples and provide clear documentation
  • Prepare and evaluate cytology slides using ThinPrep technology and standard laboratory protocols
  • Report findings using the Bethesda System and maintain accurate, timely records in EPIC when applicable
  • Collaborate closely with pathologists, clinicians, and laboratory staff to ensure diagnostic quality and patient safety
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, and institutional regulatory and safety standards
  • Participate in quality assurance and proficiency testing activities for the cytology laboratory
