PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing Team Leaders while fostering a positive, collaborative work environment across all levels of the organization. This role supports the Operations Manager in driving operational excellence, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction goals are achieved. The Production Supervisor works closely with cross-functional support teams, including Materials, Quality Systems Group (QSG), Information Technology (IT), and other departments to ensure efficient operations and continuous improvement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead, coach, and develop Team Leaders to maximize employee engagement, productivity, and performance.
  • Mentor and support Team Members in achieving individual, departmental, and organizational goals.
  • Ensure accurate and timely attendance and timekeeping entries to support payroll accuracy.
  • Communicate critical operational issues, risks, and performance updates to the Operations Manager.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow supervisors, managers, and support departments through regular communication and meetings.
  • Promote accountability for workplace organization and compliance with housekeeping standards.
  • Monitor equipment and facility damage, including forklift (Hi-Lo) incidents, and drive accountability for safe operation and proper equipment use.
  • Champion the company's culture by promoting safety, quality, efficiency, continuous improvement, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with established operational processes and procedures, including corrective actions, incident investigations, FIFO practices, inventory controls, and Min/Max requirements.
  • Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to identify and implement sustainable corrective actions for quality and operational issues.
  • Foster a positive work environment built on mutual respect, teamwork, and employee engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures, including appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE), battery-changing procedures, dock lock requirements, stack height standards, and other safety expectations.
  • Support staffing requirements through schedule flexibility, including overtime and vacation coverage when necessary.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing, automotive, logistics, or related industrial environment.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.

TRAVEL:
  • Minimal travel required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to utilize OSR/HMI systems to support production decisions and meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with union representatives and employees.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to identify issues and engage appropriate resources before escalation.
  • Ability to receive, apply, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Demonstrated ability to hold team members accountable while maintaining positive employee relations.
  • Knowledge of GM, FTA, Penske, LLP, and customer operational requirements and expectations.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively contributing as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop employees.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities.
