Position Overview

New Path Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Trauma-Informed Mental Health Counselor to join our remote team. In this full-time role, you will provide specialized therapeutic care primarily focused on individual patients dealing with trauma exposure and its effects on mental health. You will play a pivotal role in fostering resilience and recovery through evidence-based interventions.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing you to provide care from the comfort of your own space while maintaining a flexible schedule. You will connect with patients through teletherapy platforms, ensuring accessibility and convenience. Despite the physical distance, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team that supports ongoing coordination of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' personal trauma histories.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans centered on specific trauma recovery goals, ensuring that each patient receives tailored interventions.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic methods, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), in individual and group therapy sessions.
• Facilitate support groups where patients can share and process their trauma in a safe environment.
• Provide crisis intervention services when patients face trauma-related emergencies, stabilizing distress and ensuring patient safety.
• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses and effective coping strategies while providing resources for further support.
• Maintain accurate and secure documentation in compliance with HIPAA and organizational protocols.
• Engage in regular consultation meetings with psychiatrists and fellow therapists to discuss patient progress and refine treatment approaches.
• Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay aligned with the latest research and practices in trauma therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be working with individuals who are undergoing the aftermath of traumatic experiences. This allows for a uniquely rewarding experience, as you will help clients navigate their paths to emotional and psychological well-being. Your expertise will contribute significantly to patient outcomes, as you will be assisting them in building resilience and coping mechanisms essential for their healing journey.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Illinois.
• Demonstrated understanding of trauma-related disorders and strong commitment to trauma-informed care.
• Proven ability to provide culturally competent therapy and exhibit sensitivity to diverse client backgrounds.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of post-licensure clinical experience preferred, with a background in trauma-focused therapies.
• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms for documenting and providing therapy.
• Ability to handle crises calmly and communicate effectively in high-stress situations.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of USD 90,000 to 110,000 yearly, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include:
