Position Overview

Navigate Family & Youth Therapy Services is actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Trauma-Informed Mental Health Counselor to join our dedicated team in Downers Grove, Illinois. In this full-time, remote position, you will work collaboratively with individuals, families, and groups to provide essential mental health support, focusing particularly on trauma recovery and resilience-building.

This role operates in a remote setting, allowing for flexibility while still providing direct, impactful care to our clients. Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as a Trauma-Informed Mental Health Counselor will include:

  • Conducting detailed trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories and identify appropriate treatment modalities.
  • Developing, implementing, and continuously reviewing individualized treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery, resilience-building, and improving patientsโ€™ overall mental health.
  • Providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), tailored to each client's unique needs.
  • Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions to assist patients in processing trauma, developing effective coping strategies, and fostering a path toward healing.
  • Collaborating with a network of healthcare providers to ensure a holistic approach to patient care, including psychiatrists and supporting staff.
  • Offering crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies to stabilize situations and provide immediate assistance.
  • Educating patients and their families about the impacts of trauma, effective coping mechanisms, and available resources for ongoing support.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with all legal and ethical standards to ensure seamless care continuity.
  • Participating in regular case consultations and team meetings to enhance professional development and share insights regarding trauma-informed care practices.
  • Staying current with the latest research and evidence-based practices in trauma therapy to deliver the highest quality of care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice serves a diverse population including youth and families seeking mental health support with a focus on trauma-related disorders. You can expect to work with clients coping with various challenges, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues stemming from traumatic experiences.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A masterโ€™s or doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois.
  • Demonstrated experience in trauma-informed treatment modalities and psychotherapy.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and resilience-building approaches.
  • Proficient interpersonal and communication skills, exhibiting a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package with a salary range of USD 70,000 โ€“ 110,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Benefits include:
