Job description

This is a 25 to 30 hours a week, on-site role located in Chicago, IL, for a Trauma Specialist and or Therapist / Mentor. The primary responsibilities include providing trauma-informed counseling, mentoring youth to support their emotional and mental well-being, and developing individualized plans to address their challenges. Additional duties involve facilitating group therapy sessions, collaborating with program staff to address the specific needs of participants, and conducting outreach with families and community partners. The Trauma Therapist / Mentor will also document progress, support youth in developing life skills, and uphold a supportive, safe, and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Trauma-Informed Care, Counseling, and Psychotherapy
  • Experience in Youth Mentorship, Crisis Intervention, and supporting at-risk populations
  • Knowledge of Child Development, Social Work Practices, and Case Management
  • Excellent Communication, Active Listening, and Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse and underserved communities
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field (preferred)
  • Active clinical licensure (e.g., LCSW, LCPC) is highly desirable
  • Experience in group facilitation and community outreach is a plus
