Spring Mountain Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team. This full-time role is designed for professionals who are passionate about providing trauma-informed care to individuals impacted by various forms of trauma. As a vital member of our therapeutic team, you will engage with clients through telehealth services, creating tailored treatment pathways that foster healing and resilience.

Our outpatient facility is dedicated to offering a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for individuals dealing with complex trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and dissociative disorders. Our experienced team prioritizes patient-centered approaches, ensuring that every client receives personalized care that addresses their unique experiences and needs.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, utilizing telehealth technology to connect with patients where they feel most comfortable. Our access to innovative tools ensures you can deliver high-quality care without geographical constraints. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with opportunities for flexible hours based on your client caseload and specific patient needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to analyze patients' trauma backgrounds and develop individualized treatment strategies.
  • Create and implement comprehensive treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, resilience building, and coping strategies.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, enabling clients to process their trauma and learn essential coping mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic care tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Provide timely crisis intervention and emotional support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring patient safety and stability.
  • Educate patients and their families on the impact of trauma, available resources, and effective coping techniques.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential records in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines, promoting transparency and accountability.
  • Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and training sessions focused on trauma-informed care principles.
  • Stay informed about current research, methodologies, and advancements in the field of trauma therapy.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be working with individuals who have experienced varying levels of trauma, from complex post-traumatic stress disorder to dissociative disorders. Your expertise will directly contribute to the recovery journeys of trauma survivors, offering them the tools to navigate their experiences and enhance their emotional well-being.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois is required.
  • Strong foundation in trauma-related disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to therapy.
Preferred Experience
  • At least 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience, particularly in trauma-focused treatments.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to efficiently manage patient documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, emphasizing integrated patient care.
