The Supervisor, Manassas, VA Driver Operations is responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day activities of company drivers to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant transportation operations. This role provides leadership and support to a team of drivers while coordinating activities that drive on‑time delivery, regulatory compliance, and high customer satisfaction.

• Supervise and provide leadership to a team of drivers, including performance monitoring, coaching, and ongoing support to ensure efficient and compliant transportation operations.
• Conduct regular driver performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Foster a collaborative team environment that promotes safety, accountability, and high performance across the driver team.
• Address and resolve driver‑related operational issues, escalating concerns when necessary and ensuring timely resolution.
• Plan, review, and optimize transportation routes to improve fuel efficiency, reduce deadhead miles, and ensure safe and on‑time delivery of freight.
• Monitor operational conditions such as traffic, weather, and route constraints, making adjustments as necessary to maintain service reliability.
• Ensure drivers comply with all applicable DOT regulations, federal and state transportation laws, and company policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular driver meetings focused on safety, operational updates, compliance expectations, and team communication.
• Collaborate with customer service and operations teams to address delivery concerns and ensure timely resolution of customer issues.
• Support initiatives designed to improve service quality, operational efficiency, and overall transportation performance.
• Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and related technology tools to manage driver operations, track performance, and support operational decision‑making.
• Provide training and guidance to drivers on the use of company technology platforms and operational systems.
• Review and approve operational documentation, reports, and driver‑related records as required.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business operations.

• High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Previous experience in transportation operations, fleet management, or logistics required.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience within transportation, trucking, or logistics operations preferred.
• Working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and transportation compliance requirements.

• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide driver teams.
• Excellent organizational and problem‑solving abilities with strong attention to operational detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced transportation environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross‑functional teams and leadership levels.
• Results‑oriented approach with a strong commitment to operational performance and service quality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and operational technology platforms preferred.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods while performing computer‑based work and reviewing operational documentation, as well as stand, walk, and move throughout yard and warehouse environments during driver interactions and operational oversight activities. The role requires manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment and a computer, along with close vision for reviewing reports and transportation systems. The employee may occasionally be required to bend, stoop, or navigate around equipment and freight within the yard and warehouse environment as part of daily operational activities.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this role. This role operates across both office and active yard and warehouse environments, where the employee may be exposed to varying temperatures, outdoor weather conditions, moving vehicles and equipment, and noise levels consistent with an active transportation and logistics operation. Adherence to all applicable safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements is expected when working in yard and warehouse areas. The employee works in a fast‑paced operational setting and may be required to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, respond to time‑sensitive transportation issues, and maintain focus during periods of high activity. Extended hours may occasionally be required to support operational needs, driver scheduling, or service continuity.

For this position, the expected base pay range is $80,000 – $90,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
