Job description

The Transportation Dispatch Coordinator is responsible for efficiently coordinating and managing the dispatching of vehicles or goods within the transportation network. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy, and excellent communication skills.
Pay: $20 - $22/hr. Based on Experience.
We are offering a $500 Total Sign-on Bonus!
Schedule: Sunday 10:30am-9pm, Wednesday-Friday 10:30am -9pm OR Saturday 10:30am-9:00pm, Tuesday-Thursday 10:30am-9:00pm
What you will be doing:
  • Receive and handle inbound calls from both drivers and customers.
  • Initiate outbound calls to drivers to obtain and provide status updates on shipments.
  • Efficiently dispatch loads to drivers, ensuring timely arrivals at their designated destinations.
  • Enter and process transportation orders into the system when required.
  • Ensure drivers have accepted their loads in a timely manner.
  • Deliver price quotes to customers through phone conversations or email correspondence as required.
  • Resolve pickup or delivery issues promptly, addressing concerns raised by customers or drivers.
  • Foster relationships with carriers to enhance speed-to-market capabilities and overall efficiency.
  • Monitor dispatched orders and closely track pickup and delivery timelines.
  • Engage in daily communication with customers, providing details regarding pickup and delivery logistics via email, phone and chat.
  • Ensure that drivers are equipped with all necessary paperwork for the successful loading of vehicles.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including accounting, to guarantee accurate pricing and timely payment
    processes at the end of each month.
  • Must be willing and able to perform all other duties as assigned by management.

What are we looking for?
โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in business or a related field is a plus.
โ€ข Proven experience in dispatch and logistics, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry.
โ€ข Prior customer service experience preferred
โ€ข Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
โ€ข Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
โ€ข Proficiency in using order entry software and Microsoft Office Suite.
โ€ข Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
โ€ข Knowledge of transportation industry practices and regulations is advantageous.
