Theย Roads and Highways Practice is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Denver, CO.

This role leads the delivery of complex transportation projects across Colorado, with a strong emphasis on Roads and Highways work, while also helping grow and strengthen key client relationships in the market.ย On a daily basis, this person will engage directly with clients and stakeholders, manage project delivery responsibilities, and work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to help keep projects on track in terms of scope, schedule, budget, quality, and profitability.ย They will also help shape pursuit strategy, support business development efforts, andย identifyย opportunities to expand work with existing clients. As a senior leader, this person will contribute to client experience, mentor projectย managersย and technical staff, and help influence how work is delivered and grown across the Colorado transportation market.

What You'll DoKey Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage Roads and Highways projects from pursuit through delivery and closeoutย 
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and ensuring a consistent, high-quality client experienceย 
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and aligned with quality and profitability expectationsย 
  • Manage project setup, scope, schedule, budget, and contract executionย 
  • Oversee invoicing, accounts receivable, cost-to-complete forecasting, and overall financial performanceย 
  • Coordinate and lead multi-disciplinary project teams and subconsultants across complex projectsย 
  • Identifyย and support business development opportunities,ย including pursuit strategy, proposal development, teaming decisions, and expansion of existing client relationshipsย in the Colorado marketย 
  • Provide input on project staffing, team performance, and teaming partnersย 
  • Mentor and support the development of project managers and technical staffย 
  • Collaborate closely with Market Leaders and Client Team Leaders to align delivery with client and market needsย 
  • Support client profitability, project recovery efforts, and favorable project outcomes across assigned workย 
  • Provide coaching, mentorshipย and feedback to project managers and delivery teams on client expectations, project performance, and team effectivenessย 
  • Represent DEA as one company byย identifyingย opportunities to bring the right teams and services to client needsย 
What You BringRequired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related fieldย 
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licenseย requiredย 
  • Willingness to become certified or provisionally certified through DEA's Project Manager Programย 
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in transportation engineering, with a focus on Roads and Highwaysย 
  • Demonstrated experience working with transportation clients and agencies in Colorado, including client-facing project leadership and coordination with local stakeholdersย 
  • Proven ability to manage project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitabilityย 
  • Experience leading client relationships and serving as a primary client contactย 
  • Strong understanding of project delivery processes, including contracts, change management, and project controlsย 
  • Track recordย of delivering high-quality work and achieving strong client satisfactionย 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Direct experience delivering work forย CDOTย and/or local Colorado transportation agenciesย 
  • Established relationships with key transportation clients in the Colorado marketย 
  • Experience leading or supporting business development efforts, including proposal development,ย pursuits,ย and teaming decisions for transportation workย 
  • Background in roadway, corridor, or major transportation infrastructure projectsย 
  • Experience collaborating closely with structures or bridge teams in an integrated delivery environmentย 
  • Prior experience working within a consulting engineering firm of similar scale and complexityย with responsibility for both project delivery and client developmentย 
  • Active involvement in industry organizations such as ASCE, ACEC, WTS,ย ITE,ย or similar groupsย 
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor project managers, guide delivery teams, and help strengthen client-facing performanceย 
  • Experience balancing project delivery responsibilities with client development, pipeline building, and pursuit leadershipย
