Job description

Transportation Aide

Job Title: Transportation Aide 

Location: Lincoln, NE 

Department: Transportation 

Reports to: DON/Transportation Coordinator  

Position Type: Full-Time Mon-Fri 7am-430p

Job Summary: 

Perform direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel and transport residents to appointments as scheduled. Assist with promoting a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for the residents. 

Work Environment: 

Role involves working both indoors and outdoors, including handling vehicle-related tasks and interacting with residents in various settings. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Clear driving record 

  • Accompany residents to doctors' appointments

  • Willingness to transport as needed 

  • Flexible hours 

  • Properly use and maintain facility equipment. 

  • Maintain residents' rooms in neat, orderly and clutter-free manner. 

  • Support residents' participation in activity programs. 

  • Directly respond, within scope, to needs and concerns of residents and family members including call lights. 

  • Ensure residents rights are being honored at all times.

  • Provide resident care as directed by care plan. 

  • Ensure residents' comfort while assisting them in achieving their highest practicable level of functioning. 

  • Provide input to the Nurses for development of the plan of care and information gathered from care giving activities. 

  • Other responsibilities, within scope, as set forth by DON/ADON. 

Qualifications: 

  • Must be a Certified Nurse Aide in good standing with the state. Must maintain a current certification in the state throughout employment. 

  • Must achieve 12 hours of in-service education annually as required by federal regulations (as well as meet state requirements, if exceeds federal) 

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient and company proprietary information.

  • Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with residents, families and other employees at all levels. 

  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
