Job description

Riverdale Rehab and Nursing Care Center is currently seeking for a Transporter Driver for Part-Time to join our dynamic organization.
OVERVIEW:
The Transport Driver is responsible for driving the facilityvehicle to transport residents to desired destinations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides physical assistance to each participantwhen needed as he/she boards and disembarks from the programâ€'s vehicles.
• Ensures that emergency medical information isavailable for those participants being transported.
• Maintains the first aid kit in the vehicle,replacing supplies as they are used or become outdated.
• Ensures that all passengers wear safety beltsand wheelchairs are locked into position.
• Maintains vehicle in neat and clean conditionanticipating needed mechanical service so appointments can be arranged that areconvenient to program operations.
• Keeps vehicle maintenance records current;coordinate and schedule routine and episodic vehicle maintenance.
• Reports to Supervisor any vehicle operatingproblems, malfunctions or incidents out of the ordinary routine.
• Maintains accurate daily records of number oftrips, individuals transported, miles and gallons of gas.
• Compiles all necessary information to meetreporting requirements.
• Transports participants to and from physician orother medical appointments, as requested
• Assists with program activities by transportingparticipants to an event, as coordinated by the activities manager.
• Establishes and maintains communication withpatients and coworkers to improve quality of service and customer satisfaction.
• Lifts patients in and out of bed, chairs, taxisand ambulances to move them to and from treatment areas and procedure rooms.
• Transports medical equipment, supplies,documents and laboratory specimens to designated treatment, diagnostic andpatient care areas.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 1+ year in experience in a healthcare settingpreferred
• CPR/BLS certification or must be obtained within30 days of hire
• Clean driving record
• Valid Driverâ€'s License
