***This is an in office position located in Maysville, KY***
POSITION SUMMARY
Support administrative and organizational translation and administrative needs with complete follow-through. Support expatriates and visitors to ensure a positive cross-cultural experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide administrative support to the President and other executive and expatriate staff members.
  • Translate or use translation tools and resources to accurately interpret and convert technical drawings, documents, and presentations between Japanese and English.
  • Provide private life support as requested by Japanese executive and expatriate staff (including, but not limited to, translations of forms, medical appointments, housing, driver's licenses, SSN applications, opening bank accounts, etc.).
  • Create, develop, and maintain visual presentations and meeting materials for executive meetings.
  • Translate, compose and/or prepare confidential correspondence, reports, agenda scheduling, preparation of expense reports and other complex documents.
  • Organize complex activities for business trips, meetings, and activities for Japanese executive staff and visitors as needed.

  • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the department by acting as a liaison between Japanese executives, expatriates, visitors, and other departments to gain information, resolve problems, and enhance relations.
  • Support 5S activities through general housekeeping of work area to ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in business or related area, plus a minimum of two years' experience in a related position (preferably in manufacturing), or equivalent.
  • Verbal, written, and cross-cultural communication skills, emphasizing interpersonal, group presentation skills, Japanese and English language fluency, and ability to speak, read, write, and understand, Japanese and English. Japanese ability must be at or near native-level fluency.
  • Ability to effectively utilize translation tools and software to support the executive team.
  • Possess a high level of self-reliance and resourcefulness.
  • Diplomatic, professional communication - verbal and written.
  • Proactive ability to successfully prioritize when faced with requests, demands, and deadlines.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook is required.
  • Familiarity with additional applications such as databases, calendar management, collaboration platforms, Adobe and DocuSign is preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for training, conferences, meetings, etc., and work overtime, with short notice.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $30.77/hour and $38.47/hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
