Job description

ย The Transitional Housing Support Staff provides direct support and oversight to residentsย participatingย in the Transitional Housing Program. This position promotes a safe, structured, and recovery-focused living environment whileย assistingย residents in developing independent living skills,ย maintainingย sobriety, and progressing toward long-term stability.ย 

Support Staff serve as a positive role model, reinforce program expectations, document services accurately, and ensure compliance with all organizational, state, and regulatory requirements.ย 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESย 

Resident Support & Supervisionย 

  • Monitor resident activities to ensure a safe and structured environment.ย 

  • Enforce house rules, curfews, and program expectations consistently and respectfully.ย 

  • Conduct regular house checks and document observations.ย 

  • Perform random drug and alcohol screenings as assigned.ย 

  • Provide supportive coaching related to life skills, employment, and recovery goals.ย 

  • Assistย residents with conflict resolution and problem-solving.ย 

  • Report concerns, incidents, or behavioral issues to supervisory staff promptly.ย 

Documentation & Complianceย 

  • Completeย accurateย andย timelyย shift notes, incident reports, and required logs.ย 

  • Maintain documentationย in accordance withย company policy and regulatory standards.ย 

  • Ensureย all required forms are completed andย submittedย perย protocol.ย 

  • Protect resident confidentialityย in accordance withย HIPAA regulations.ย 

Program Operationsย 

  • Conduct intake orientation for new residents when assigned.ย 

  • Support transportation coordination as needed.ย 

  • Assistย with room checks, cleanliness inspections, and inventory management.ย 

  • Participate in team meetings andย trainings.ย 

  • Support emergency response procedures when necessary.ย 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent requiredย 

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in related field preferredย 

  • Valid Arizona Driverโ€™s License with acceptableย 36 monthย driving recordย ย 

  • CPR/FA Certification โ€“ to be obtained within firstย 30 daysย 

  • Fingerprint Clearance Card โ€“ย have current card or show proof of applying within 7 days from hire dateย 

  • Handle with Care โ€“ to be obtained within firstย 30 daysย 

  • Successful clearance of pre-employment criminal/county/state background checkย 

  • Successful clearance of pre-employment drug and alcohol testingย 

  • Successful clearance of TB PPD testing upon hire and annual screening of TB symptomsย 

  • Attending clinical oversight with BHP once every 2 weeks worked for a minimum of 2 sessions per month.ย
