What is a transition project manager?

Transition Project Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing the smooth transfer of projects, services, or operations from one state to another, such as during mergers, system upgrades, or organizational changes. They plan, coordinate, and execute transition activities to minimize disruption and ensure that objectives are met within budget and timeline constraints. Their role often involves risk assessment, stakeholder communication, and process optimization to ensure a seamless transition and continued business performance.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a transition project manager?

To thrive as a Transition Project Manager, you need strong project management expertise, experience in change management, and often a relevant degree or certification like PMP or PRINCE2. Familiarity with project management tools (such as MS Project, Jira, or Asana) and IT service management systems (like ITIL) is typically required. Job description

Experienced Tile Punch & Repair Technician

Bonita Springs, FL

You know the difference between simply fixing a punch item... and making a repair look like it was never needed.

You are an experienced tile installer who still enjoys the craftsmanship but may be ready to leave some of the heavy, backbreaking production work behind.

You know tile. You've spent years installing it, you've seen what goes wrong, and you've learned how to make repairs without turning small problems into big ones.

Most of the time, the issue has already been identified and a repair has been recommended. Your experience tells you whether that repair makes sense, when a different approach is needed, and how to complete the work cleanly and efficiently.

This role is about the details: understanding what needs to be corrected, recognizing when the proposed fix isn't the right approach, and leaving behind finished work you're proud to put your name on.

Our Standard

  • Excellence isn't optional.
  • Details matter.
  • Quality matters just as much on the repair as it did on the original installation.
  • Communication prevents small problems from becoming expensive ones.
  • The best repairs solve the problem without creating another.
  • The best projects create wins for everyone involved.

If you rush repairs, make excuses, or believe "they probably won't notice it" is acceptable, this won't be the right fit.

If you take pride in your work, know how to make difficult repairs look easy, and leave every job better than you found it, you'll fit right in.

Responsibilities

  • Complete punch-list, warranty, and service work on commercial and luxury residential projects.
  • Repair or replace damaged, cracked, chipped, hollow, or unacceptable tile and natural stone.
  • Touch up and repair grout, caulk, transitions, edges, and other finish details.
  • Match existing grout, caulk, joint appearance, and surrounding finishes as closely as possible.
  • Evaluate recommended repairs before beginning work and communicate when a different approach may produce a better result.
  • Make precise repairs without unnecessarily disturbing surrounding tile, stone, or finished surfaces.
  • Protect cabinets, countertops, walls, flooring, fixtures, and other completed work while making repairs.
  • Work through punch lists efficiently without sacrificing craftsmanship or quality.
  • Communicate field conditions or concerns before they become larger problems.
  • Communicate professionally with superintendents, project managers, GCs, homeowners, and other trades.
  • Document completed work and conditions requiring additional attention.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and professional, especially in occupied homes and completed spaces.
  • Deliver repairs that meet our quality standard the first time.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of professional tile installation experience.
  • Strong knowledge of tile and natural stone installation and repair.
  • Ability to remove and replace individual tiles without unnecessary damage to surrounding work.
  • Strong grout and caulk repair skills.
  • Ability to recognize common tile installation and finish problems and understand appropriate repair methods.
  • Ability to evaluate a proposed repair and recognize when it may create additional problems.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in finished work.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Comfortable interacting with GCs, superintendents, homeowners, and customers.
  • Own professional tile installation and repair tools.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Highly fluent in both English and Spanish.

Highly Valued

  • Commercial and luxury high-rise experience.
  • Large-format tile and premium finish experience.
  • Experience with Schluter systems and waterproofing.
  • Mud work and wall float experience.
  • Experience with epoxy grout and specialty installation systems.
  • Experience working in occupied luxury homes and completed commercial spaces.

The Standard at the Finish

The punch worker is often the last person from our company to touch a project.

That's everything.

Experience matters here. The best punch workers know when a repair needs five minutes, when it needs an hour, when the proposed fix isn't the right one, and when touching something without a better plan will only create more work.

But efficiency isn't enough. The finished repair still has to represent the same craftsmanship and pride we expect from the original installation.

If you've spent years learning the trade, still take pride in the details, and are ready for a role that's less about setting tile all day and more about using everything you've learned, we'd like to talk.
