Summary of Position Functions

The Project Manager II plays a pivotal role in the successful execution of projects, from the RFP/RFQ process through to completion. This role will collaborate with a diverse team of Site Superintendents, Architects, Engineers, Owners, and Subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety standards. This role involves overseeing daily onsite operations, managing project budgets, and providing regular progress reports to the Regional Operations Manager ROM). Additionally, the Senior Project Manager leads subcontractor coordination, organizes meetings, and ensures seamless communication across all project stakeholders.

Essential Position Functions

  • Develops a comprehensive schedule from the inception of the project by closely reviewing plans and specifications for required activities.
  • Works with project team and subcontractors to accurately reflect durations and sequence or logic.
  • Proactively manages project schedules with team to ensure projects remain on or ahead of schedule.
  • Ensures 2-3 week look ahead schedules are completed by Site Superintendents and review and distributed to project team.
  • Creates monthly projections and forecasts of earned revenue by working with subcontractors and reporting forecast to ROM. Regularly reflects accurate upcoming and or projected costs required to successfully complete the project on time.
  • Provides overall leadership and accountability for all close-out activities associated with the project.
  • Looks ahead at potential risks and establishes a plan to eliminate or reduce the potential risk for both budget and schedule.
  • Promotes safe working methods and provide safety measures as needed for our on-site personnel and subcontractors.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university or three to five plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Commercial construction experience required.
  • Commercial Solar experience required.
  • K-12 and Municipal experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Veregy’s services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
  • Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g. MS Office, etc.), is required.
  • Computer software proficiency including Microsoft Project, Viewpoint, RS Means, Trimble Estimating and / or other job-related hardware and software applications that may be required.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time / workload.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, business, professional, and technical documents.
  • Ability to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and staff.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to write presentations, articles, routine reports, proposals, and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and tactfully negotiate priority with end users.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.
