ABOUT THE ROLE
The Finance Transformation Project Mgr reports to the Director, Finance Transformation and is a key member of the new Finance Transformation Office (FTO). The FTO Project Mgr will ensure that critical, strategic, multi-year finance initiatives go live on time, on budget, and deliver their intended value. The Project Mgr willl manage third-party relationships, hold implementation partners accountable, and establish a professional project cadence that builds credibility for the corporate Finance team.

Essential Functions
  • Design and implement tailored project management methodologies for the FTO.
    • Move initiatives from discovery to results with high predictability.
  • Directly manage the execution of high priority, high-complexity finance technology projects (e.g., OneStream, Master Data Management, RPA).
  • Own relationships with system integrators and software vendors.
    • Hold them accountable to scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Proactively identify execution risks (e.g., data gaps, resource constraints, process bottlenecks) and partner with the Change Management Specialist to mitigate resistance before it impacts timeline(s).
  • Partner with the Transformation Director to track that projects are not just "done," but actually deliver the promised operational efficiency and capacity lift.
  • Shadow the accounts payable system Upgrade project manager to learn the ecosystem, preparing to take ownership of future releases.
  • Champion change management
    • Partner with the FTO Change Management Specialist to coach Finance leaders on the basics of project discipline without using jargon.
    • Translate complex project plans into clear, simple updates for stakeholders who are change-averse.
  • Meet finance team members where they are in their change journey and tailor solutions that align with their capacity for change.
  • Advocate for change, assist with communication, reduce resistance and support training.
  • Plan project management, including setting realistic timelines, prioritizing tasks, and working with team members to deliver results.
  • Provide financial reporting on all projects for ROI evaluation.
  • Draft KPI's and new and improved process policies and compliance requirements.
  • Benchmark internal processes against best practices and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Document project creation, development and execution as well as scope, budget and justification.
  • Assist in the development of best practices, workflow assessments, or other projects related to information identified during gap analysis.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a finance project management framework including the requisite best practice document templates that align with standard SDLC practices (e.g., project charter, requirements document / RTM, design document, test plans (SIT, UAT), production readiness, stage gate entry & exit criteria, etc.)
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location.

ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in responsible finance, IT, procurement, engineering, or construction industry roles
  • Solid project management experience implementing new technology in a finance or accounting environment (ERP, EPM, AP Automation)
  • Significant experience managing third-party vendors or system integrators
  • Sound experience with financial functions such as Accounting, Shared Services, FP&A
  • Proven success negotiating for "Win-Wins" with internal customers
  • Solid knowledge of Oracle E1, Hubble, OneStream, RPA
  • Prior experience working in a construction/industrial finance environment is a plus
  • Prior supervisory experience is a plus

Preferred Education
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, project management or related discipline; combination of 10 years of relevant experience and education considered in lieu of degree
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred

  • Proven ability to independently manage projects and deliver results under pressure in a legacy environment with manual processes
  • Working knowledge and experience with change models and frameworks
  • Deep understanding of project management principles and frameworks (Waterfall/Agile/Hybrid) without being dogmatic

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary $95,000-$115,000/yr
    • Commensurate with experience with weekly pay Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
