ERP Change Manager – SAP (Contract)

Hays Specialist Recruitment is partnering with a leading Canadian natural resources organization to hire an experienced ERP Change Manager for a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation. This is a senior, high-impact role supporting enterprise-wide change across a complex, multi-site operation. You will join a collaborative ERP program team focused on delivering a successful implementation, driving adoption, and ensuring organizational readiness at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead organizational change management (OCM) efforts for the SAP S/4HANA implementation across the enterprise
- Review, assess, and refine existing change management strategies to identify gaps and align with program objectives
- Act as the central point of coordination across vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure a unified OCM approach
- Conduct change impact assessments and validate “As-Is” vs. “To-Be” business processes
- Drive organizational readiness activities, including readiness assessments, KPI tracking, and Go/No-Go decision frameworks
- Partner with training leads to translate change impacts into role-based training programs
- Oversee change communications to ensure consistent, transparent messaging across multiple locations
- Lead and optimize change champion/super user networks to support adoption and feedback loops
- Identify change risks, resistance points, and adoption challenges; implement mitigation strategies
- Support cutover planning and post-go-live hypercare activities
What You Need to Succeed
- 5–10+ years of experience in Organizational Change Management, including 3–5+ years in ERP/SAP transformations
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementations (highly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of OCM frameworks (e.g., Prosci ADKAR) and project delivery methodologies (Agile/Waterfall)
- Experience in large-scale, enterprise transformation within heavy industry, mining, energy, or similar sectors
- Ability to balance strategy and hands-on execution in a fast-paced, complex environment
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing cross-functional teams
- Advanced communication skills, including executive-level messaging and change communications strategies
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to operational sites
