What You Will Do:

The Admissions Evaluator is responsible for proactively facilitating the process necessary for the expedient and accurate admission of students to the University.


  • Evaluates new and in-progress applications and supplemental materials in order to reach an admission decision

  • Communicates and coordinates with applicants for submission of all application credentials

  • Communicates and coordinates with other University departments (enrollment, student finance, faculty) and outside agencies (other institutions, evaluation & testing agencies) as necessary to collect information needed to reach an admission decision

  • Organizes and coordinates application review & transcript evaluation processes with various University departments (i.e. Registrar, Advising, etc.)

  • Utilizes various reports to audit files


  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or some college with significant work experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Higher Education (preferred) in admissions, advising or another student facing role, strongly preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft office (word, excel, etc.) and familiarity with relational databases (Banner preferred but not required)

  • Customer Focus: Personally demonstrates that external (or internal) customers are a high priority. Identifies customer needs and expectations and responds to them in a timely and effective manner. Anticipates and prevents delays or other things that can adversely affect the customer. Keeps customers informed about the status of pending actions and inquires about customer satisfaction with products or services.

  • Problem Solving: Takes initiative to identify, define, and resolve challenges. Assesses root causes, generates and evaluates options, and implements practical solutions—adapting quickly to new or unexpected issues with sound judgment and minimal oversight.

  • Responsiveness & Timeliness: Responds promptly to requests, inquiries, and service needs. Acknowledges receipt of concerns, sets clear expectations, and minimizes delays in follow-up or resolution.

  • Adaptability in Service Delivery: Adjusts approach based on urgency, complexity, or context. Remains flexible and resourceful when responding to evolving needs or unexpected challenges.

The salary range of the grade for this position is $18.14 to $24.49 per hour (typical workweek is 37.5 hours).  Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.  Offers are based on multiple factors permitted by law, including but not limited to: budgetary considerations, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, market considerations, tenure and standing with the university (applicable to current employees), and internal equity.
